Teen pregnancy rates in Indiana continue to drop, but not as quickly as the national average. A new study by The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy shows, as of 2013, the national teen birth rate was 27 births per 1,000 girls between the ages of 15 and 19. The most recent Indiana’s numbers show the rate was 33 births per 1,000 girls. Since the early 90's, the national teen birth rate fell nearly 60 percent, while Indiana’s rate declined 45 percent.
