Last month marked the ninth in a row of unemployment rate declines in the Hoosier State. Indiana’s unemployment rate has decreased by 2.1 percent over the past year and has remained below the national rate for the past four months. Locally, Kosciusko County's jobless rate was 4.1% in April, which is down from 5% in March. Elkhart & Noble Counties posted 5%, Marshall 5.5%, Whitley 4.5% and Fulton 6.2%.
