The Indiana Department of Transportation has announced that bridge maintenance is scheduled to begin on S.R. 15, in various locations within Elkhart and Kosciusko counties, this Thursday, Sept. 8, weather permitting. Work will include bridge joint and bridge deck repairs on S.R 15 over the CSX Railroad tracks in Kosciusko County, between C.R. W 1350 N and the Kosciusko/Elkhart County line, S.R. 15 over Whitehead Ditch in Elkhart County, between Carter Lane and C.R. 146, S.R. 15 over the Little Elkhart River in Elkhart County, between S.R. 120 and Twin River TrailMotorists can expect the road to be reduced to one lane in each direction while contractors complete the bridge repairs. INDOT reminds drivers to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through an active construction zone.
