Janet Kay Shull of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 4:57 p.m. on Friday, August 5, 2022 at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne, Indiana at the age of 81.
She was born on May 31, 1941 in Paulding, Ohio to Dorothy M. (Sweitzer-Sinn) Glass and Harold James Glass. On December 26, 1964 she married her best friend and lifelong love, Robert Galen Shull. They were blessed to share 57 years of marriage together before she passed away. They spent their life together raising their three children, experiencing the joy of becoming grandparents and celebrating every birthday, graduation, holiday and everything in between.
Janet graduated from Greenville High School, Greenville, Ohio in 1960. She loved to do hair and went to beauty school to get her cosmetology certificate and remained a member of the Professional Hairdressers Association. Janet was a great hairdresser and throughout her life she enjoyed many a great conversation while cutting the hair of friends and family. She always kept busy working to help support her family and worked at RR Donnelley (now LSC Communications) in Warsaw for 10 years and was the assistant manager of Shoe Show. After retirement she loved being a water aerobics instructor at the Warsaw YMCA.
Her favorite job was simply being Mom. Janet loved spending time with her children growing up and was a Girl Scout Leader and Cub Scout Leader for many years. She served as the Day Camp director for two years and was a youth bowling instructor as well. She loved the fellowship of the ladies in Beth Boggs Bible study group. Janet was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who was a great presence in the lives of those she loved dearly.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Robert Galen Shull (Warsaw, Indiana), two sons, Mark (Leann) Ganger (Warsaw, Indiana), Brent (Rebecca) Shull (Warsaw, Indiana), and her daughter, Monica (Andy) Harvey (Fort Wayne, Indiana). Also surviving are her beloved four grandchildren, Marissa Ganger, Andrea (John) Rheinheimer, Alex (Tiffani) Harvey and Jared Harvey, great-grandchild, Amelia and her brother, Jerry (Linda) Glass (Paulding, Ohio). She was preceded in death by her parents.
Janet’s life will be celebrated with a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana and officiated by Pastor Kenneth Chupp. Friends and family may visit an hour prior to the service from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest at a later date.
