Joseph (Joe) G. Mitchell, 61, of suburban Tampa, FL, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on January 29, 2022, after a short illness.
He was born in Danville, IL, on March 8, 1960, to the late James and Iris Sobkoviak Mitchell.
Joe was an avid motorcycle rider and lover of country and rock-n-roll music. Joe called his friends “Good Americans”. He was always willing to help a friend in need. Joe was the life of the party. When he walked into a room, you knew he had arrived.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife Jodi (Grossman) Mitchell, formerly of Argos and Winona Lake; Daughter Amy Mitchell Abdallah (Ahmed), Son Joey Mitchell (Stacy): Daughter Shelley Mitchell Corken (Chris); Brother Jay (Sue) Mitchell; and sister Susan Allison; 10 grandchildren, 2 nieces, 1 nephew, 1 great niece and 1 great nephew. He also leaves behind his ex-wife and best friend Gail Birge.
There will be a celebration of life from 1:00pm-5:00pm Sunday, March 6, 2022 at Summer Lake’s HOA Clubhouse at 9285 Quartermoon Drive, Pendleton, IN 46064.
