Judy Elzora Hartup

Judy Elzora Hartup, 79, of Pierceton, Indiana, went to be with her Lord on Friday, June 3, 2022 at her home with care and love of her family.

Judy was born April 30, 1943, in Rochester, Indiana spending her childhood in Akron, and attending Akron High School.

On December 12, 1969, she married the love of her life, Ed Hartup.  Together they raised 4 children Kim (Bruce) Rose, David (Mary) Hartup, Beth Hartup and Angela Hartup. Judy spent most of her children’s young lives at home.  Judy worked for over 10 years at Walmart, where she was best known as “The Quarter Lady”.  She loved her community and spent many years serving as a volunteer for Pierceton Days, Washington Township Library board, as a Sunday School Teacher, and the Parkinson Support Group.

She loved to make others smile, spending time telling jokes and completing clown college.  She loved writing letters and cards, going to garage sales and making trips to Goodwill.  She enjoyed fishing trips with her husband Ed. But most of all she loved being “Nana” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and children, Judy is survived by her grandchildren,  Simon (Joni) Rose and Randy Rose, Amanda (Ben) Vandermark, Angela (Richard) Landgraf, Eric (Lee Anna) Wiggs, and Madisyn Hartup; great grandchildren, Sebastian, Jacob, Scarlett Rose, and Griffin Rose, Kaden, Lennon and Lincoln Vandermark, Christopher Karr, and Lilliana and Gabriella Wiggs. She was preceded in passing by her mother and father Edna Norris and Ivan Burns, and daughter Angela Hartup.

A visitation is planned from 2-4pm and from 6-8pm on Wednesday June 8, 2022 at the First Baptist Church – Pierceton. A funeral service in celebration of her life will begin at 1pm on Thursday June 9, 2022 in the Church. Pastor Mark Fishburn will be officiating the services Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels, Warsaw have been entrusted with the arrangements for the family.
