WARSAW — Kosciusko Area bus Service, better known as KABS, is considering establishing fixed bus routes in Warsaw and Winona Lake and will seek public input tonight at a meeting at the Warsaw Community Public Library.

KABS General Manager Kristin Rude said they have two proposals and want the public’s thoughts on where they would like to see bus stops located.

The concept is called a deviated fixed route and offers some flexibility that would allow bus drivers to deviate off the route to pick up riders who can’t get to a bus stop.

Rude describes the venture as a pilot project.

It’s been more than 20 years since KABS has offered fixed routes.

Th meeting runs from 5-7 p.m. today at the library and if you need a ride, KABS is offering free rides — all you have to do is call. The phone number is 574 267-4990.
