If you saw a jump on the state dashboard this week in positive cases in Kosciusko County, the addition of antigen tests have been the cause of that.
The change in reporting came after the Indiana State Department of Health decided that both antigen and molecular tests are reportable, investigable, and added to cumulative reports.
In their Tuesday update, officials reported 904 positive molecular, or PCR tests, along with 90 positive antigen tests. A molecular test detects the virus’ genetic material, while antigen tests detect viral proteins.
Of the 904 molecular tests, 68 remain active, while 824 cases have recovered.
Overall, there have been 994 positive coronavirus tests.
