WINONA LAKE – Starting Thursday, Kings Highway will be closed to all traffic and Park Avenue will become a one-way street heading south into Winona Lake, according to a Winona Avenue roundabout construction update from Phend & Brown Inc.
The intersection will become a two-way stop, indicated through stop signs and pavement markings.
This will allow for the complete reconstruction of the Kings Highway portion of the new roundabout. Kings Highway is expected to be closed for four to six weeks to perform the work.
Traffic leaving Winona Lake will follow a detour route north on College to Seventh Street, east on Seventh Street to Wooster Road. At Wooster Road and Kings Highway, the local detour will follow the designated truck detour east to CR 250E, then out to U.S. 30, then U.S. 30 west to Center Street and back to Argonne Road.
Appropriate signage will be installed on Thursday.
An alternate route is suggested to avoid delays.
Changing weather conditions and/or internal schedule changes may alter the dates.
