Update: The man who was shot by police in the K-Mart parking lot in Plymouth on Monday night has been identified. Police say the armed confrontation developed after a state trooper stopped 33 year-old Lane Dodson for questioning from an earlier battery case he was allegedly involved in. Dodson was shot by police after he raised a hand gun toward the officers. The names of the two officers involved in the shooting are expected to be released on Wednesday.
The very latest about an officer-involved shooting outside the Kmart store in Plymouth. It happened early Monday night. Indiana State Police investigators say officers were looking for a white van and driver, said to be involved in an earlier domestic dispute. They found the alleged vehicle and suspect and approached him in the Kmart parking lot. A Plymouth officer and a State Police officer were speaking to the man when investigators say the man raised a gun at them. The officers then took aim and fired. The suspect was airlifted to Memorial Hospital in critical condition. No officers were injured in the incident.
