Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputies dealt with an out of control intoxicated woman in Pierceton on Friday.
Christy Y. Ousley, 42, of Pierceton, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Friday, December 2, for battery to a public safety official, a level 6 felony; resisting law enforcement, a class A misdemeanor; and disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor. Her bond is set at $2,500.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, on November 19, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a battery complaint at 8280 E. US 30, Lot 30, in Pierceton.
Upon arrival, Fowler spoke with Christy Ousley who was extremely impaired under the influence of alcohol, to the point where she could hardly stand up. She told police she was drunk because her boyfriend brought home some alcoholic beverages.
Ousley also told the officer she had been beaten by her boyfriend. The officer could see red marks on her neck and face, as well as a laceration on the back of her head.
Officers spoke with Ousley’s boyfriend who said she and another woman were arguing and a physical confrontation began. The boyfriend also said while he was trying to stop the fight, Ousley scratched him on the neck. Officers could see scratched on the man’s neck.
Police spoke with the other woman involved in the fight who stated Ousley was drunk and out of nowhere started throwing things and her and the boyfriend. She continued that Ousley was picking fights with everyone she encountered and was trying to hurt herself. The woman also told officers Ousley while her boyfriend was trying to restrain her, she grabbed him in his private area and told him “she was going to cut them off while he was sleeping.”
Too intoxicated to make any decisions on her medical treatment, Ousley was escorted to an ambulance by officers. While on the way to the ambulance, Ousley started resisting and trying to fight.
While EMT’s were transporting Ousley to the hospital, she removed the restraint and hit the EMT assisting her. Officers responded and placed her in handcuffs and strapped her back on the ambulance cot.
Officers spoke with the EMT worker who said while trying to settle Ousley, she kicked him two times in the stomach, breaking his cell phone clip.
While at the hospital, Ousley was screaming and ignored all requests to be quiet. She attempted to walk out of the hospital, when officers told her she was under arrest and not free to leave. When officers escorted her back to the emergency room, she again attempted to leave and fought with officers. Restraints were applied to her wrists and feet and she was fastened to a hospital bed.
