Kosciusko County wants to explore the idea of making U.S. 30 a freeway.
The City of Warsaw is also joining in the discussion, and city officials say six other counties are now looking into making U.S. 30 a freeway to improve safety and traffic flow.
Officials in the “U.S. 30 Coalition” will host a public meeting on Thursday, May 24 at 7 p.m. at the Warsaw Community High School Performing Arts Center. Current traffic counts and crash data will be presented and the community will be encouraged to give their input.
The group is using U.S. 31 between South Bend and Indianapolis as a template for what U.S. 30 in Indiana could be.
