The number of positive COVID-19 cases in Kosciusko County went up by three on Thursday in the health department’s newest update.
This brings the case county to 36.
Officials say a topic of concern lately has been the number of tests performed that are reported in the Indiana State Department of Health’s dashboard on a daily basis. KCHD offered this response to that:
“Currently, Kosciusko County is reported to have performed 523 COVID-19 tests and the state of Indiana has reported a total of 94,998 performed tests. As facilities have continued to send tests to private labs, as well as beginning to perform their own tests, this total is not an accurate representation of the total number of tests performed.
This number is only representative of the tests reported to the ISDH – it is not mandated that facilities report the tests they have performed to the ISDH. The total number of tests reported is an underestimate of the actual number of tests performed. Thus, this total should by no means be characterized as a comprehensive total. “
