North Webster: Kosciusko Youth Leadership Academy (KYLA) class of 2021-2022 held their twenty-seventh annual graduation ceremony May 4, 2022. The night consisted of student charitable project presentations, a guest speaker, and distribution of diplomas to the graduating KYLA students.
Guest Speaker Tiffany Parker, a Northern Regional Manager at Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites, spoke to the graduation class about Indiana Native and American Author, Geneva Grace Stratton – and asked the question to KYLA graduation students, “What will be your Legacy?”
There were approximately 32 students graduating from the 2021-2022 Kosciusko Youth Leadership Academy.
Graduating students contributed to the community through group projects. The group projects consisted of students volunteering to the youth of the Beaman Home, fundraising for fellow Triton student Memorial Bench, Fundraising to Destiny Rescue, Wheels for Warsaw, Right to Life, Clothing Closet fundraiser, and Fellowship Missions.
The students spent an individual ten hours on their chosen project. Students then presented their experience within their chosen project to their fellow class and board members. Two of these group projects were presented at the graduation night to board members, family members, and fellow classmates.
The KYLA Youth Leadership Program is now accepting applications for the 2022-2023 year. Applications are to be submitted by the deadline, May 18, 2022.
