Kroger has announced it plans to buy another grocer to help expand their stores in the Midwest. Kroger plans to purchase fellow grocer Roundy's for about $178 Million. According to The Journal Gazette, Roundy's owns about 150 stores in Wisconsin and Illinois. Kroger operates more than 2,600 stores in 34 states. The deal is expected to close before the end of the year, although Roundy's does have the option of finding another buyer within 30 days. Both Owens stores here in Warsaw belong to Kroger.
