TIMES UNION REPORTS – The Echoes of the Past will host a memorial tractor drive benefitting the Kurt Miller Memorial Fund on Sept. 11.
According to a news release from the tractor club, “Kurt was tragically taken from us on April 17, 2015, in an accident at the young age of 17. Kurt was a student at Tippecanoe Valley High School and a member of the FFA and the Beaver Dam 4-H club. His love of John Deere tractors was only surpassed by his love for Ford trucks. He had a smile and demeanor that changed the world of anyone who knew him.”
A memorial fund has been set up in his honor that benefits youth involved in agricultural activities, such as FFA or 4-H.
The tractor drive will begin at Miller’s childhood home, 8298 W. CR 600S, Claypool. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. and the drive will take off at 9 a.m.
You do not have to be a member of the club to participate in the drive, the release states. The club will also have a tram to ride for those who would like to participate but do not own a tractor to drive.
The route is approximately 25 miles and tractors must be able to maintain a minimum speed of 10 miles per hour. A lunch will be served following the drive and Igloo ice cream will be available.
Donations from the drive and the lunch will benefit the memorial fund.
