Lafayette police say a reported abduction attempt on a 12-year-old boy never occurred. The boy and witnesses had told police the incident happened Thursdayt night as choir members from church were practicing at a downtown home. The boy said he was coming out of a bathroom when a middle-age man he didn't know grabbed him and put his hand over his mouth but the man fled after he screamed. No details on what the police investigation found.
