Police in LaPorte are trying to track down the person who shot a man with a flare gun Monday afternoon.
The 59-year-old victim was standing outside of his work van in the 800 block of Clement Street when he and a friend were nearly struck by a pickup truck. The truck stopped and backed up, and an argument ensued.
The driver then fired the flare gun at the victim and fled. The flare struck him in the arm, causing minor injuries.
Police describe the suspect vehicle as a possible older-model black Ford, driven by a man who was likely in his early 20s.
