A man from Larwill was killed in an ORV accident Wednesday evening.
Indiana Conservation Officers say a 911 call into Whitley County reported an overturned ORV along County Road 600 North with a man pinned underneath. After first responders arrived, they removed the ORV from atop the man, who was identified as 53-year old Ronald Puckett. Lifesaving efforts on Puckett were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation shows that Puckett was eastbound on 600 North, when he left the roadway, causing the ORV to rollover, ejecting Puckett in the process. Officers say he was not wearing a helmet or any protective gear. Speed and alcohol are believed to have played a factor in the accident.
