The South Bend woman arrested after the weekend death of her 11-month-old son is being held without bond. Metro Homicide investigators says 21-year-old Nyesha Crockett threw her son on the ground and kicked him after becoming angry that his father was out with friends Saturday night and not responding to text messages.
She played a video game after smothering her 11 month-old son with a shirt, then kicked him as he lied on the ground. Gruesome details in the court papers filed against 21-year-old Nyesha Crockett. Police were called to the Sadie Street home late Saturday night. She told officers she was angry he baby's father was out with friends Saturday night and not responding to text messages. Now an arraignment for the South Bend woman. Neighbors are shocked. A vigil was held for Micahyah last night at Sadie & Orange Streets. Crockett is also being charged with causing injuries to her daughter, Alaiyah, in February that have left her in a vegetative state.
