Leesburg Council Approves Sewer Fee Reduction

Leesburg Town Council Monday approved a request for a sewer fee reduction.
The council approved reducing the sewer fee for a vacant building on North Main Street from $437.17 a month to $73 a month.
Roberta Anderson, building owner, attended the council’s Oct. 12 meeting requesting a sewer fee reduction since the building is vacant.
In other business, the council approved a 2.5 percent salary increase for the street commissioner, clerk-treasurer and sewage clerk.
Doug Jones, board member, said he will meet today with the county highway department to discuss a standing water issue at the corner of School Street and Ind. 15.
Brandon Queen, street commissioner, said leaf pickup is going well and will continue until Thanksgiving.
Residents are reminded that burning is not permitted anytime and there is no parking on any city street from 3 to 5 a.m.
