Lena Mae Deaton-Howard, 93, of Warsaw, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Miller’s Merry Manor Warsaw.
Born on June 9, 1928, in Salem, Indiana, Lena Mae was the daughter of Nelson and Orpha Ann (Williams) Pollock. She was united in marriage to Max G. Deaton who preceded her in death in 1987. In December 1992 she married Elmer Howard who preceded her in death in 2011.
Lena graduated from of Leesburg High School. She has been a resident of Kosciusko County for over 60 years. She retired after working several years as a cook for local restaurants. She was a member of the Claypool United Methodist Church.
Lena Mae will be lovingly remembered by her children, John (Janet) Deaton of Claypool, Jaynn Stoops, Jerry (JoEllen) Deaton both of Warsaw; stepchildren Linda (Bill) Howard- Miller of South Whitley, Penny (Gary) Howard- Myers of Bloomington; grandchildren Angela (Eric) Jungbauer, Jason Stoops, Jacob Deaton, Jarrod Deaton, five great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in passing by stepdaughter Sheri Howard and seven siblings.
A visitation is planned from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Monday March 28, 2022 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service in celebration of her life will begin at 12:00 Noon in the funeral chapel. Pastor Glenn Hall will be officiating. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery, Claypool.
