Students at 13 Indiana college campuses will receive social media messages about Indiana's “lifeline” law. Notre Dame is among the campuses chosen. The law allows minors under the influence of alcohol to call to report a medical emergency or a crime without getting in trouble themselves. Backers of the law say too many underage drinkers are unaware of the law. Students accessing the internet through their college or university will receive information about the law on Facebook, YouTube and Pandora. The messaging will occur through triangulation among cell towers, creating digital domes over campuses.
