A Warsaw man has been arrested after sending inappropriate messages to a teenage girl between the ages of 14 and 16 years old.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed with the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, on Jan. 1, a Winona Lake Police officer spoke with a mother who advised her teenage daughter spent the night at a friend’s house in Warsaw on New Year’s Eve.
The woman told police when her daughter woke up the next day, she found text messages of a sexual nature on a cell phone via Facebook Messenger to her daughter from 61-year-old Rodney Mock.
The messages provided to police included such statements as “I will let you have some fun with me” and “you will enjoy it.”
Mock sent another message later in the night apologizing for what he said and claimed to be intoxicated when he sent them.
Warsaw City Police spoke with Mock who said the teen was at his home on New Year’s Eve and admitted to sending her multiple messages using Facebook Messenger. Mock deleted the messages after he sent them.
Mock was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Monday, Jan. 16. on $10,250 bond. He is being charged with one count of child solicitation, a level 5 felony.
