There was a slight uptick in the local unemployment rates in July, according to new data from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.
Numbers released on Monday show Kosciusko County went up to 3.2 percent last month as the number of unemployed in the county rose to just over 1,400. Neighboring counties saw similar rises in unemployment, with Noble County experiencing the biggest jump, up 0.8 percent to 3.8 percent from June.
Despite the rise in unemployment, Kosciusko County remains to have one of the lowest unemployment rates in the state and is lower than the state average.
