A Mishawaka man has been arrested on charges of child molestation for allegedly abusing a female relative when she was 5 years old. 75 year-old David Earl Hamilton was arrested earlier this week. According to court documents, the victim’s mother contacted police back in December and said her daughter told her she’d been abused by Hamilton five year ago. She said the incidents allegedly happened in her bed at her home in Elkhart County, as well as in Hamilton’s home in Mishawaka. Detectives also interviewed Hamilton’s ex-wife, who gave descriptions of his body consistent with details the victim gave police. He was booked at the Elkhart County Jail this week with a $100,000 bond, but is no longer listed as an inmate.
