FORT WAYNE (Network Indiana) — The death of a 1-year-old in Fort Wayne is now a murder.
Prosecutors on Thursday upgraded the charges in the death of 17-month-old Aiden Clark, who died earlier this week.
Police quickly re-arrested the suspect in the case, 27-year-old Shaquille Rowe, who was able to post bond before the charges were upgraded. Police say Rowe, the boyfriend of Clark’s mother, beat the little boy to death.
Doctors say Clark was hit so hard that his heart was ripped in half. Police say Rowe was alone with the boy on the day he died.
