A man has been charged with aggravated battery, a class B felony. The charges come after 54 year old Jerry C. Winfield allegedly stabbed William Johnson. WNDU reports that on June 13th, a South Bend Police Department officer on patrol near LaSalle Park Homes found William Johnson lying on the ground, bleeding from apparent stab wounds. Winfield was brought in for questioning and was arrested. Winfield allegedly stabbed William Johnson during an argument about a debt Johnson owed Winfield.
