A Lafayette police detective has turned over to prosecutors the investigation into the death of an 88-year-old man whose body remained in his home for nine months before it was reported. The Tippecanoe County Prosecutor's Office now has the report after the detective received the final financial record he had requested. Now, the decicison as to whether charges will be filed in the man's death will be made. The county coroner says a forensic entomologist determined Gavan had been dead since at least last July. Police found his body May 3 on his living room floor. Ila Solomon insists her husband of two years didn't die until late April.
