Police have identified a man who was found dead after he was hit by a department prisoner transport van on an Indianapolis street. The Marion County coroner's office said Friday that the man was 64-year-old Daniel Hanley. Investigators say Hanley's injuries show he was hit by another vehicle before the Marion County Sheriff's Department van hit him Thursday night. Police say witnesses told investigators that the man was lying on the four-lane street on the city's south side when he was hit by the van. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The deputy driving the van wasn't hurt and no other people were reported riding in the van. Investigators don't believe speeding or alcohol was involved in the crash.
