A Syracuse man was injured Saturday when he was pinned between two vehicles. Benjamin Freestone, 36, of 72285 CR 133, Syracuse, was directing a 2003 Ford Ranger driven by Lavina Freestone, 15, Syracuse, to park in the driveway of his residence when Lavina mistook the gas pedal for the brake pedal and collided with the front end of a 1990 Dodge RV, according to an Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department crash report. The other vehicle was unoccupied and parked in the driveway, facing east. When the Ranger hit the RV, Benjamin was pinned between them in the driveway. He was transported by Syracuse medics to Goshen General Hospital. He was admitted to the hospital with a fractured right leg and bruised left leg. The injuries appear to be non-life threatening, the report states.
