Two new election-related events have been announced.
Starting alphabetically, Democrats affiliated with the Wayne Township races have scheduled a meet-and-greet at Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce for Oct. 29. Start time is 7 p.m.
Township trustee candidate Shari Benyousky will be joined by township board candidates.
Benyousky said she invited Republicans – specifically her challenger, Jeanie Stackhouse – to join in the event. County GOP Chair Mike Ragan confirmed the invite was made, and that he told Benyousky that he didn’t see any need for it.
Jim Falkiner, one of the three Dem candidates running for the township board, suggested that given the Republican lock on local government, he can see why they would not see the need.
“But the Benyousky campaign thinks some residents may differ and want to decide for themselves.”
Meanwhile, Ragan announced Thursday night that a statewide Republican bus tour is scheduled to stop in Warsaw on Nov. 4. Among those expected to participate are Gov. Eric Holcomb, Sentate candidate Mike Braun and a slate of statewide candidates.
The bus is expected to park near GOP headquarters near the corner of Lake and Center streets. No time has been announced yet.
