Final arrangements are being made for a fallen K9.
A public memorial service will be held at the First Church of God in Columbia City Wednesday morning. Mourners will then head to Greenhill Cemetery, where there will be bagpipes playing and a 21-gun salute.
The Whitley County Sheriff says K9 Cas is being treated the same as any officer who dies in the line of duty.
She was killed on July 10 when 31-year-old Clarence Shearer allegedly committed an armed carjacking in Plymouth and led police on a chase on U.S. 30. He crashed into a police cruiser at a high speed, causing the fire that killed K9 Cas.
