Seth Hamman was arrested Monday night after Warsaw police say they observed him buying precursors at two different stores.
Hamman, 31, of 4395 S. Lakeshore Drive, Mentone, was arrested for possession of a chemical reagent and failure to appear in court.
On June 26, Warsaw police officer Brad Kellar was at Walgreens when he saw Hamman allegedly purchase pseudoephedrine from the pharmacy. Kellar then followed Hamman to a local grocery store, where he observed a juvenile male exit Hamman’s vehicle. Kellar followed the male into the store where he observed him purchase lithium batteries and return to Hamman’s vehicle.
Knowing where Hamman lived, Kellar drove towards his home when he saw Hamman fail to use a turn signal, giving him the opportunity to conduct a traffic stop. Police found lighter fluid and the lithium batteries in the vehicle. Hamman admitted to asking the juvenile to buy the batteries for him. He also told police he planned on trading the precursors for meth.
Hamman is being held on a $10,250 bond at Kosciusko County Jail.
