The midweek snows across the area saw the highest totals from Warsaw toward northeast Indiana into southern Michigan.
The National Weather Service says the official total in Warsaw was six inches. Heavier amounts were seen at the weather service office in North Webster, where eight inches was recorded, and the highest report was in Steuben County, where nine inches was measured in Angola.
An average snow of four to six inches was seen across many portions of Kosciusko, Marshall, Elkhart and Whitley Counties, with six to eight inch average measurements in Noble, LaGrange and DeKalb Counties.
Officials said temperatures near or slightly above freezing Tuesday evening resulted in slushy snow. The combination of colder air moving into the region Wednesday and increasing winds led patchy blowing and drifting snow Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday evening.
