A Middlebury woman has lost her life after a crash involving a semi and two passenger vehicles. It happened on U.S. 20 between County Road 33 and County Road 35. Police say 55 year-old Carolyn Moses was attempting to turn into a private drive, but was hit from behind by another vehicle, driven by 17-year-old Devin Steurer of Middlebury. The force of the collision sent her car into the path of the rig. The semi, which was hauling cattle, caught fire. The cab was destroyed. Crews had to cut a hole into the trailer to free the animals. The crash blocked the stretch of U.S. 20 near Northridge High School for several hours.
