Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller is proposing a new bill to protect deployed military members and their families. Attorney General Zoeller says the Indiana Service Member's Civil Relief Act would protect members of the military while they're protecting Americans during deployment. Specifically, it would increase consumer protections, including the suspension or postponement of debt collections, foreclosures, cellphone contracts and court hearings, to service members while they are deployed. Indiana lawmakers will work with four other states, which are working on their own versions, to determine the best way to format and enforce the bill.
