Community Corrections was approved for money to get a third vehicle.
Executive Director Barry Andrew spoke at Tuesday’s County Commissioner Meeting with a request for the vehicle, saying that the department is back up to full strength on staff, and the third vehicle would be helpful for a new on-call rotation which recently started.
Andrew also mentioned that the mileage on the current two vehicles is expected to “increase dramatically” with new policies and on-call and field visits in place.
Commissioner Brad Jackson said the request of up to $40,000 was a bit “steep,” but Andrew said he does not intend to spend the entire amount. The request was unanimously approved.
