More crossings are open as railroad work moves through Warsaw

Commute conditions are expected to improve for Warsaw today.

The Times-Union reports there were twenty specialized vehicles with 50 workers from Pope Street to Fort Wayne Street Tuesday & yesterday.

The result is not just 40-year-old rail being replaced, but also more open crossings today.

The 23-mile project in Kosciusko County is considered the biggest of the year for the Norfolk Southern and is moving faster than expected. Originally, installation of the new rail was not expected to begin until early July.
