More information was released by the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office regarding two crashes that happened in the past few days.
The first was a motorcycle accident that happened on Saturday, where the rider of a motorcycle, 26-year old John Wakefield of Fort Wayne, crashed on the on-ramp to US 30 from State Road 15.
Police say Wakefield led police on a high-speed pursuit that started in Leesburg, after deputies responded to a home there after reports of an unwanted suicidal subject. Wakefield led police on a chase before he crashed.
In the Monday crash along State Road 13, 58-year old David Walker of Warsaw was driving a minivan south on State Road 13, getting set to make a left turn onto County Road 150 South.
Police say as Walker was turning, a semi hauling sand, driven by 68-year old Gary Hall of Peru, attempted to pass the van and that’s when the truck struck the minivan. Both drivers had to be extricated from their vehicles and were taken to area hospitals.
