More than 6 million pounds of beef products recalled, Salmonella concerns

More than six million pounds of raw beef products are being recalled due to concerns of Salmonella contamination.

JBS Tolleson, Inc. is recalling approximately 6,500,966 pounds of raw, non-intact beef products, including ground beef. The products were packaged on various dates ranging from July 26, 2018 to September 7, 2018.

The recalled products include the establishment number “EST. 267” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

An investigation revealed the recalled products have caused 57 illnesses in 16 states. The most common symptoms of Salmonella poisoning are diarrhea, abdominal cramps and fever within 12 to 72 hours after eating the contaminated product. The illness usually lasts between four and seven days.
