Hammond Police say a mother and her two daughters were shot during an attempted robbery on Sunday. Police Lt. Rich Hoyda told WNDU that two men tried to rob a 41-year-old woman Sunday morning while she was in the car with her 15 and 12 year old daughters. The mother, who is from Addison, Illinois, tried to flee and one of the men fired, striking all three in the car. The men then fled and the mother was able to call 911. Hoyda says the girls were hospitalized in critical condition and the mother was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
