Motorcyclist killed in Friday night crash north of Atwood

WARSAW — A motorcyclist died in a Friday night accident north of Atwood, according to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.

The accident happened at 10:26 p.m. at the intersection of CR750N and CR750 west.

A preliminary investigation determined a 1986 Honda motorcycle driven by Benjamin R.
Stogsdill, 36, was eastbound on CR750 north and failed to stop for a stop sign at CR750 west.

The motorcycle continued through the intersection striking an earth embankment and trees before coming to rest.

Stogsdill, of Nappanee, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Lutheran EMS, Raven Wrecker Service, and Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office. The crash remains under investigation by the Kosciusko County FACT Team.
