WARSAW — The driver involved in a fatal accident that also injured numerous other people last month is now facing drunk driving charges.

The crash involved a northbound 2024 Black Tesla and a Southbound 2007 Black Chevy Tahoe on CR 150W at about 5:30 p.m., June 29.

Vehicles included a southbound Black Chevy Tahoe operated by Joseph Criswell, 44, of Milford, who died at the scene.

A northbound Black Tesla operated by Anish Daita, 31, of Warsaw, sustained serious injuries in the collision.

Evidence at the scene indicates the northbound Tesla traveled left of center, colliding with the southbound Tahoe. Two juveniles in the Tahoe were critically injured.

Daita was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on preliminary charges of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Causing Death (Level 4 Felony) and two counts of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Causing Serious Bodily Injury (Level 5 Felonies), according to a news release issued Tuesday by Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office.

The accident remains under investigation.
