The son of an 80-year-old woman found stabbed to death in her hospital room has been charged with murder. 60-year-old Rodney Louis Dickinson was charged Saturday in connection with the murder early Friday of Margrine Haywood, a patient at Methodist Hospital in Merrillville. Haywood's husband was found stabbed to death in his Gary home a few hours after, according to police. So far, no charges have been filed in connection with his death. A witness told police she saw Dickinson acting strangely in his mother's hospital room, then heard screams and saw Dickinson running away. Before losing consciousness, Margrine Haywood told a nurse that Dickinson attacked her.
