An early morning crash involving a semi has left one person dead. It happened on S.R. 15 just south of U.S. 6. According to the Elkhart Sheriff's Department, the driver of a 2005 Chevy Cavalier, 27 year old Jeremy Ranstead of Osceola was traveling north on S.R. 15 when he crossed the center line, striking a semi traveling south. The Chevy Cavalier sustained heavy front end and driver's side damage resulting in Ranstead's death. The crash is being investigated by the Crash Investigation Team and the Coroner's Office.
