President Barack Obama has declared today as the National Day of Prayer.
Each year many people from several different religious backgrounds gather to pray for the state of the country and celebrate religious freedom in the United States.
Locally, students and community members will gather at Rodeheaver Auditorium today at noon to celebrate and pray in observance of the national holiday.
The gathering is open to the public.
