We’re getting new warnings about phone scams in Kosciusko County. The sheriff’s department says some of us are getting phone calls from either people or automated systems posing as IRS agents demanding immediate payments of overdue taxes. The scammers also insist that you use pre-paid debit cards and wire transfers. Please remember: the IRS will send you a letter or visit you in person if you have a tax issue–they never call asking for payment over the phone.
