The North Manchester Police Department is warning local businesses of counterfeit bills circulating in our area.
Police warn the pen many businesses use to determine counterfeits will not work on these bills, according to the Times Union.
North Manchester Police say they’ve received a report of five counterfeit $20 bills from local businesses in the last week.
Reportedly, the bills’ paper has the right feel, weight, printing and different serial numbers. But when the bills are put under an ultra light, the security strip shows blue instead of green.
Anyone who receives one of these bills should call NMPD at 260-982-8555.
