Notre Dame has announced that it will be playing a Shamrock Series football game next year at Yankee Stadium.
Their opponents? The Syracuse Orangemen.
The two teams clashed at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium in October 2016, with the Irish winning 50-33. It’s also the first Irish game at Yankee Stadium since the Irish beat Rutgers 29-16 in the 2013 Pinstripe Bowl.
This is the ninth game in Notre Dame’s Shamrock Series, where a home game is sacrificed in order to play at a neutral site. The second Shamrock Series game saw the Irish beating Army at Yankee Stadium in 2010.
Tickets will be offered to football season ticket holders and contributing alumni during a spring 2018 lottery. Any tickets still left after the lottery will be sold to the general public in July.
The Irish also announced their 2018 and 2019 football schedules, which you can read here.
